Empower: abilities is celebrating a Silver Award in the Non-Profit category under Service Organizations in CommunityVotes Springfield MO. This is the organization’s second year receiving a nomination, making the recognition especially meaningful.
The award reflects the support of community members who nominated and voted for empower: abilities, recognizing its work to remove barriers and promote independent living for people with disabilities and older adults throughout Southwest Missouri.
For more than 40 years, empower: abilities has helped individuals build skills, access resources, and make choices about their own lives. Its programs include Consumer Directed Services, independent living skills training, youth services, durable medical equipment, hearing and vision resources, assistive technology, and accessibility solutions.
While each service meets a different need, they share a common purpose: supporting independence, choice, and participation in community life.
This recognition is also a celebration of the people behind that work—from staff and volunteers to community partners, supporters, and the individuals and families who place their trust in empower: abilities.
