Our partners work to empower individuals with disabilities through community partnerships. These partnerships are a vital component of Empower:abilities approach to creating a more inclusive and accessible society. Empower:abilities collaborates with a diverse range of community partners, including businesses, non-profit organizations, and government agencies, to provide resources and opportunities for individuals with disabilities. In this list, we will explore some of our partners and the valuable work they do to support individuals with disabilities. Each of these partners shares commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities and creating a more inclusive community for all.

ARC of the Ozarks

As a disability services organization we provide inter-organization referrals to maximize service opportunities.

Abilities First

Our disability services partnership allows us to expand community education around disability related topics and issues.

Convoy of Hope

Donations from Convoy of Hope provides essential items that we pass on directly to our community.

Cox College

Our partnership provides Occupational Therapy Students information about Independent Living Centers to take with them into practice.

Drew Lewis Foundation

We work together to connect people to services and programs for the benefit our community.

Fellows Lake

Together we host a Day at the Lake event that provides opportunities for people with significant disabilities to enjoy activities such as kayaking, pontoon boat rides and sailing.

Great Plains ADA Center

We partner to provide ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) education and improve accessibility though-out our community.

Greene County COAD

As a member of the COAD we ensure that the needs of people with disabilities are part of disaster planning and response.

Hallmark Property Management Inc

Our longstanding partnership has provided a conduit to accessible, affordable housing throughout our service area.

Our legislative partnership expands legislative engagement opportunities and work to develop self advocates.

Missouri Assistive Technology

Our long relationship with Missouri Assistive Technology has allowed our Access Department to provide a wide range of services. Funding from MOAT has provided our equipment demonstration inventory, recycled durable medical equipment programs. We facilitate the Missouri Telecommunications Assistance Program services, which provides free adaptive phones, devices and accessories to keep Missourians with disabilities connected to friends, family and services they need to remain independent.

We work together to connect people with the Missouri State Health Insurance Assistance Program services

We partner with MSU's Citizenship and Student Learning program to expand our capacity and provide students with work experience opportunities

For some, the exact day, minute, and hour can be pinpointed as the moment everything changed. For me, it was more like an hourglass. My hearing slowly deteriorated through the years. Each moment became harder than the next and continued to be this way for the next two decades. I was just a kid when the hourglass was flipped and the countdown towards deafness began.
