Empower: abilities has united all Social Clubs, Activities, Workshops, Support Groups, Educational Opportunities, and Wellness Programs under the new Live & Thrive initiative—offering a fresh, cohesive approach to empowering independence and enhancing well-being for all people with disabilities.

Circle of Friends Social Club
This group of peer supporters has been enjoying fellowship and fun for over 30 years! Come make new friendships and get in on the good times we share together. This group of adults with disabilities meets bi-weekly and plans activities they want to participate in. Reach out today and join our Circle of Friends.

Youth Social Club
Want to make new friends and have fun? This group is for youth ages 14-25 with any disability. Each month we do a different activity such as painting, watching a movie, or playing games. We also go out into the community some months and have fun at places like Incredible Pizza, Andy B's, or the Dickerson Park Zoo! This group is a great way to meet peers with disabilities and socialize!

Join us for our Gaming Club on the fourth Friday of each month. This group is open to anyone 15 and over who want to come have fun with friends. We play video games, board games, host tournaments, role play, dice, cards ... it's up to you! Play our games or bring your own.

Empower: Youth
Calling All Youth Ages 14–24! Join us to build connections and learn new life skills.
Discussion topics include:
✨Connect with peers
✨Encourage one another
✨Build confidence and independence

Empower: Youth offers a safe, moderated space created for real conversations, shared experiences, and support from people who get it.

Support Groups

Peer counseling and support offers strength, encouragement, and friendship by connecting you with others who have faced similar challenges and overcome them.  We can match you with a peer supporter that meets your individual needs. We currently host the following groups:

Blind and Low Vision Support Group
In the Blind and Low Vision Support Group, we talk about independent living skills, health and wellness, assistive technology, and bring in guest speakers for special topics.

Transitions Support Group
Thriving at Home – Transitions Support Group is a support group for individuals returning home after a nursing stay. This is a big step—and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Join our Thriving at Home support group, created for individuals who have transitioned out of nursing care and back into their own homes. This is a big sterp - and you don't have to do it alone.
• Share real experiences
• Talk through challenges
• Celebrate wins
• Connect with others who understand the journey

Together, we’re building confidence, connection, and independence at home.
